winona grilled peach salad

For someone who isn’t really a fan of peaches, I always can’t wait for the festival – to grab a box and enjoy the grounds.

The Winona Peach Festival takes place every year in Hamilton. The grounds feature a number of peach vendors, but it’s not only peaches… many vendors have various products for sale (lots of hand-made crafts), there is rock climbing, rides and entertainment. The highlight is always their popular Peach Sundae made with fresh macerated peaches, ice cream and a dollop of whip cream on top.

Make sure to check them out, next year August 28, 29 and 30. For more details on Winona Peach Festival, click HERE

Here’s how you can make this simple and delicious recipe.

Ingredients:

  • As many peaches you would like to grill (save extra for later)
  • Burrata from HERE
  • Arugula
  • Balsamic vinegar
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Process:

  1. To grill the peaches: Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat and brush your peaches with olive oil. Grill the fruit for 2-3 minutes or until soft and charred.
  2. Place arugula on the plate
  3. Slice your burrata, use as much as you like
  4. Peaches on top, drizzle with balsamic vinegar and olive oil
  5. Finish with salt and pepper to taste

I just love the combination of sweetness from the peaches, the creaminess from the burrata and pepper-i-ness from the arugula.

For someone who isn’t the biggest fan of peaches, I sure would eat it this way everytime!

Bon appetit!
