Heston turns 2

We celebrated Heston turning two. I can’t believe how quickly time flies. Due to covid19 and Heston still being small, we kept the celebration simple. John and I wanted a little getaway for us and we thought Sandbanks was a great place to spend the birthday weekend. If you’re curious to know where we stayed and how we spent the weekend, click HERE. This blog is all about sweets, balloons and Heston’s birthday.

Sometimes keeping it simple is the best thing. We knew our place had a great backyard, so we wanted to fill it with a lot of balloons…we bought a few packs from PartyCity. A Birthday banner from H&M and to top it all off, DONUT cake. Yup, you heard me, donut cake. When we booked our place, we asked for a recommendation and Butter Dream Cakes came up. searching for a cake, I stumbled upon Donut Cakes on the menu HERE. How did she know those were my two favourite things? I had to look into it.

There were so many flavours, I wish I could try them all, but with control, John and I picked our favourites (Birthday Cake and Chocolate Mint),this was such a great alternative to a traditional cake.

Even though it looked like a donut, it tasted like a decadent cake. Absolutely delicious and highly recommend it when you pass by Picton, Ontario. Heston loved it, can’t you tell?

And ofcourse the party continued inside….
