Sandbanks

If you want to plan a little weekend getaway …away from the usual …try visiting Picton, ON.

We wanted to celebrate Heston’s 2 with Donut Cakes, balloons and the beach.

Sandbanks Provincial Park is 2.5 hours drive from Toronto. Their beaches feel like you’re down south and downtown Picton feels like Stratford. A little strip with tiny ice cream shops and antique stores. Super cute to explore.

We wanted to celebrate and keep to ourselves. We found a gorgeous Airbnb home called The Woodville Church. Our pictures do not do it justice, so you can see the place yourself HERE

They had everything you could imagine. Highly recommend using them the next time you pass by Picton. A couple of fun photos of our stay.

If you want to know a bit more detail on Heston’s birthday, click HERE. We recommend our favourite dessert shop.

As for the beach, it gets busy during summer  and especially on the weekends, so make sure to check ahead and follow their twitter account HERE. They constantly update whether or not they close up for the day (based on parking spaces).

Heston is obsessed with the water and did not want to leave. We had such a wonderful stay, it totally rejuvenated us. If only it was closer, we’d go all the time.
